Standard 10: Carpet Odor Control — Neutralize Without Residue

Premium approach: remove the source and residue instead of powders that build up in fibers.

Standard 10 covers odor control in carpets and textiles. The goal is neutralization without residue, because residue drives re-soiling and recurring odor.

KUGO protocol

  1. Identify the source: surface, padding, nearby textiles or a hidden spill.
  2. Dry soil removal: vacuum using the correct head (slow passes).
  3. Target treatment: match chemistry to the cause (organic odors → enzymatic; general odors → neutralizer) with minimal moisture.
  4. Residue removal: blot/extract back to clean.
  5. Full drying: ventilate and dehumidify until completely dry.

Notes

  • Always test a small area on delicate fibers.
  • Wool/silk and handmade rugs require a different approach; moisture control is critical.

KUGO tailors the method to fiber type and rug construction. Send an inquiry.
